previously worked at a hospital. went to a party on a boat sponsored by max rager which becomes the catalyst for a zombie outbreak. quit her job, broke off her engagement with Major, and began working for the Seattle PD as an assistant medical examiner to get brains in secret. realized the visions she gets from victims brains can help solve their murder cases, so she teamed up with Clive and found helping solve murders gives her undead life purpose. is found out to be a zombie by her boss, Ravi.

after Seattle is walled off to contain the zombie population, she becomes Renegade, a human smuggler.

previously worked for the CDC but was fired for suggesting the possibility of a zombie outbreak. works with Liv to develop a cure for the zombie virus. loves video games and loud music. moves into Major's house.

as a bit, develops a vaccine and tests it on himself. he basically becomes a part-time zombie, only having symptoms for one week every month calling them "his monthlies."

previously worked in vice, went so deep no one wanted to work with him anymore. struggled to solve a case in homicide until he teamed up with Liv, unknowingly benefiting from zombie visions, believing her to be psychic. loves the knicks and game of thrones, when initially introduced to DnD he thinks it's nerdy but he ends up loving it.

learns about zombies when Major is arrested for being The Chaos Killer

begins as a counselor at Helton Shelter, a homeless shelter for teens, before his obsession with hunting zombies gets him fired. Liv and Ravi gaslight him about the existence of zombies, until he admits himself to a psychiatric hospital, where he meets Scott E, Don E's twin brother, who had footage of zombies on his phone. figured out what Blaine was doing at Meat Cute and killed his employees in what becomes known as the Meat Cute Massacre. Blaine stabs him, Liv saves him by turning him into a zombie against his will.

hired by max rager to kill zombies, he instead keeps them in freezers in hopes to unfreeze them when Ravi finishes the cure.

hired by fillmore graves as a mercenary. later becomes the head of fillmore graves after chase graves is executed.

sold Utopium at the max rager boat party, scratched Liv, killed homeless teenagers to sell their brains through Meat Cute, a butcher shop he owned.

previously sold Utopium with his twin brother Scott E. Blaine introduced him to zombies.

became a zombie when Blaine had memory loss to try to steal the funeral home brain business from him

TLDR: zombies are real and liv uses her zombie powers to solve crimes. zombies also cause a lot of problems. SEASON 1:
liv is working at the hospital when a coworker invites her to a boat party. major encourages her to go, and later that night it explodes into a violent disaster that involves the breakout of a zombie virus which liv contracts through being scratched by a zombie yet to be identified as blaine debeers.

after this, she breaks up with major and quits her job, opting to work in the morgue of the seattle police department. five months into her employment, her boss, ravi, deducts that she is a zombie and begins running tests on her in attempt to develop a cure. homicide detective clive babineaux comes into the morgue to check on a case when liv has a vision that helps track down the victims identity. though tied to her zombie-ism, ravi tells clives it's because she's psychic and she starts helping with further cases. this gives liv's undead life purpose.

it's revealed that max rager had something to do with the boat party massacre when one of their employees dies mysteriously in a skydiving accident. max rager now knows about liv.

blaine debeers is soon discovered through a vision liv has after eating the brain of someone he killed. he is working at a butcher shop called meat cute and selling the brains of teenagers that he and his crew have killed. since major is working at a shelter for homeless teens, he notices how many of them are going missing and deduces that "The Candy Man" has something to do with it, a man who has been seen hanging around the local skatepark offering utopium to teenagers.

major tries to get help from the police but blaine has them in his pocket, having turned the lieutenant. so he takes it upon himself to find the candy man (juilien dupont, not pictured) who at this point has also been seen with blaine. major breaks into julien's car and finds a cooler with brains, and eventually decides it must be because zombies are real. liv and ravi try to convince him that he's wrong, even after julien breaks into their house and attacks major. major shoots him and calls clive, but julien is gone by the time clive gets there. clive convinces him that he's crazy and major admits himself to a psychiatric hospital. there, he meets SCott E, who is there not only for believing the devil is out to get him, but also because he was at the boat party and has footage of the zombie outbreak.

ravi has developed the first version of the cure but hasn't been able to test it. there are two doses.

major is now more convinced than ever that zombies exist and buys guns to take them out. he goes to meat cute and gets kidnapped by julien and kept in the freezer, breaks out, and comes back and kills all but blaine. blaine stabs him before liv shows up. he tells her that she can't kill him because he knows who all the other zombies are and needs to feed them so they don't go feral and kill everyone in seattle. liv finds major near death and scratches him to save him. she uses one dose of the cure to cure blaine, forcing him to be the first test subject, and later uses the second dose to cure major.

SEASON 2:
the first cure causes blaine and major to sense zombies. max rager learns this by tapping liv's phone and uses major to find all the zombies that they helped create so he can kill them.

mr. boss, who blaine previously sold utopium under, is investigated by peyton. he reveals that he knows who she is using as a source and they both know that if he 'went away,' there wouldn't be a case.

ravi finds one of the test rats who had been cured is now a zombie again. he tells major and blaine that they will at some point be zombies again. ravi needs the utopium from the boat party to formulate a cure, so blaine tracks down another old dealer who knows where to find some (Drake Holloway, not pictured). major and blaine revert to zombies.

drake tells them about a running buddy who was smuggling utopium on his person when he was killed and buried in a field. the cured rat dies so ravi, major, and liv work to find the body before major or blaine die as well.

the police (Dale Bozzio, not pictured) are investigating the disappearances/murders of wealthy men, calling the suspect "The Chaos Killer." it's revealed that major isn't killing any zombies for max rager, but keeping them in freezers in wait for ravi to create the cure, but fooling max rager into believing he's killing them.

dale figures out major is the chaos killer and arrests him. liv and ravi know that the zombies are just frozen and plan to release them to clear major's name. however, max rager caught on to his ruse and took the zombies first. as a last ditch attempt, liv tells clive that she and major are zombies because if he doesn't get brains in jail, he's going to eat people.

max rager sells their company to an independent military.

major is released. he, liv, and clive crash a max rager party to find the zombies and whatever else max rager is hiding in their secret basements. they find the zombies "alive" and well, except for two who had been tested on and turned romero, including Drake, who liv has to kill.

they are caught by the CEO of max rager, Vaughn Du Clark (not pictured), who is killed by the zombies he tested on. liv, major, and clive escape the basement but are trapped by a hoarde of zombies created at the max rager party. the independent military (Fillmore Graves) saves them from being attacked by the zombies.

SEASON 3: fillmore graves is revealed to be entirely made up of zombies and want to make seattle into a zombie homeland. they explode the max rager headquarters to cover up the zombie outbreak, but the explosion brings the event to the attention of Dead Enders, people who want to kill zombies.

fillmore graves provides their employees with blended brains in tubes, which prevent taking on the personalities and memories of the deceased. dead enders use brain tubes as evidence of who the zombies are and target them.
